We were making our way back home from the East Coast and fancied a pit stop for coffee and a bite. Trusty Google found this little gem of a coffee-joint tucked away near the iconic Singapore National Stadium. It’s located in an ugly industrial square, but inside you find a modern, minimalist haven for proper coffee lovers, and by all accounts, the cool-kids of Singapore.
It offers a selection of coffees, both blended and single-origin & they come out as good as you’d expect from somewhere where the bean is the main attraction.
I was peckish so ordered their beef pastrami sandwich and Charlie couldn’t resist a slice of freshly baked earl grey cake to go with her coffee.
Whilst Charlie nibbled delicately at her modest cake, out came my monster of a sandwich. Piping hot crusty baguette filled to the brim with salty pastrami, molten cheese, mustard, tomatoes & rocket stacked next to a pile of crunchy crisps. A little more than I was expecting but absolutely delicious.
Would really recommend Brawn & Brains if you’re in that part of town & are on the hunt for a top quality caffeine hit. We both left with doggy bags of sandwich & cake so beware the food comes big!
